In order to keep the definitions of V’s hair, clothing and the vehicle sharp whilst capturing the image from afar, I reduced the field of view significantly.

I used purple lighting to match the headlights of the car and angled it towards V’s back to create a natural look that draws attention to both V and the vehicle. Without the additional lighting, V would be a shadowy figure next to the car and she would look out of place.

There are many formulas for colour harmony. In this capture, I chose this location as the car lights (purple) and the background building lights (red and hints of red-orange) are next to each other on the colour wheel (also known as Analogous colours). They work really well together as this is also a formula that can also be seen in nature. It’s the main reason why this image isn’t unappealing to look at despite being so bold and striking.
